Hello friends, I hope you all are doing well. Today I am going to tell you about five big changes that Indian Railways has started from July 2025. These changes are mainly about waiting tickets, Tatkal booking, and IRCTC agents. Let’s see all the updates one by one.
1. Waiting Ticket Limit Increased
Earlier, Railways gave only 25% waiting tickets. After that, it showed “Regret”.
But now, this limit is increased:
- AC Classes: from 25% to 60%
- Sleeper (Non-AC): from 25% to 30%
This means now more people can get waiting tickets.
2. New Official App – Rail One
On 1st July 2025, Indian Railways launched a new app called Rail One (earlier known as Swarail/Super App).
Through this app, you can book confirmed Tatkal tickets on busy routes and use many more services.
3. Aadhaar Link Needed for Tatkal Booking
From 1st July 2025, you cannot book a Tatkal ticket if your IRCTC account is not linked with Aadhaar.
So, if you have not linked it yet, do it soon.
4. Aadhaar OTP Must for Tatkal
From 15th July 2025, while booking a Tatkal ticket, you must enter an Aadhaar OTP.
This OTP may come before booking or during booking. Railways will release the exact process on 15th July.
5. Agent and Third-Party App Timing Changed
From 1st July 2025, IRCTC agents and third-party apps can book Tatkal tickets 30 minutes late compared to normal users.
Example:
- AC Tatkal for normal user: 10:00 AM | For agents: 10:30 AM
- Sleeper Tatkal for normal user: 11:00 AM | For agents: 11:30 AM
Final Words
So friends, these are the five new rules that started in Indian Railways from July 2025. These rules are made to stop misuse and to help normal passengers get tickets more easily.
I hope this update is helpful for you. 🚆✨
